You say your hearts are full of the Holy Spirit, ready to love. Yet when a woman steps onto the stage to preach, you retreat away or silence her with Paul’s words lifted out of context and stripped of their purpose. Is that love?

Have you not had a revelation? Does the Spirit of God not convict and lead you? But if you truly understood theology, you would understand the context behind it. Instead, you wield isolated verses as weapons while ignoring the heart of the gospel.

Oh, you who are so theologically inclined, have you become so committed to defending your interpretation that you can no longer discern the voice of God? Will you test the Spirit by your traditions, or your traditions by the Spirit? Be careful that in defending your doctrine, you do not resist the very One you claim to serve.

What do we do when we are within a structure that is not living? How do we satisfy the spirit when we should be looking for and craving that which gives life? How do you survive such a vast indifference when you come from a life-giving place and find yourself in a vast, dry desert serving only sterility, with a side of theology?

Why are you being a Gatekeeper to a Kingdom that does not belong to you?

You quote the letters to Ephesus and Corinth, yet you completely turn a blind eye to the upper room. You praise the day of Pentecost, yet you build a dam to stop the very rivers of living water that God promised to pour out. (Acts 2:17–18)

We are walking around dead inside, claiming to be that which carries life.

I see behind that forefront. I see what you hide. I see because of the Spirit. I see through the lies.

You celebrate the resurrection every Sunday, yet your actions demonstrate that you muzzle the very voices Jesus first commissioned to preach it.

Perhaps that is why we fail to grow. Perhaps it is why we fail to recognise what we are missing, because our focus has become so fixed on that which cannot satisfy the soul.

Have we diluted our minds to the point of looking for another snack when what we really need is to drink living water?

The Spirit can speak life into situations where theology cannot. Emotional trauma cannot always be met with textual writing. The heart needs that which can bring life, not simply have a book thrown at it.

Perhaps the answer is to turn inward, back to the original Source—the place where it all first began. The foundation. Let’s strip the layers back and look there.

Beyond what we have been taught, beyond what we claim to know, and simply look to the “I AM” before we were introduced to human teaching.

Will you allow the dry desert to be flooded with the living water? Will you be receptive to the out-of-band communication through which the Spirit speaks?

Perhaps it is not so “out of band” after all. Perhaps you simply need to attune your antenna. The signal and the Source have been there all along; you just haven’t quite attuned yourself to them.

The Spirit speaks. The Spirit breathes. (John 16:13)

Allow the Spirit to retrain you. Allow it to broaden your perspective, to challenge what you thought you understood, and to take you deeper than you have ever been.

Not merely to say, “Spirit, lead us,” but to actively allow the Spirit to lead you. There is a difference between asking to be led and actually surrendering your direction.

We cannot merely accomplish what the Spirit desires to do through our own human effort.

You wonder why we lack growth? Take a step back and see what He sees.

Human intelligence can never go where the Spirit can. We should remember that our souls will never be saved by our own knowledge, but by the Spirit.

Don’t you think it’s time we surrendered the idol of intelligence, took a step back & allowed the Spirit to take its place?

Perhaps you’re the one who needs to remain silent.

It’s time we surrendered & perhaps then, in the end, you’ll bow your knee.

-Acts 2:17–18: “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.”

-John 16:13: “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
