Touched by the Unseen
Spiritual food with Jess – April 18, 2026
You know this silence.
It isn’t peaceful
it’s the kind that suffocates.
It doesn’t wait for an invitation.
It doesn’t wait for the sun to set.
It waits for those hollow morning hours
when your guard is stripped away
and you are at your most vulnerable.
It creeps in like a cold fog,
turning the one place you should be safe
your own mind
into a battlefield.
The prophet Jeremiah warned that not every dream is a gift.
Some are sent to mislead,
to pull you away from the truth.
You’ve felt it, haven’t you?
You wake with your heart hammering within your chest
your body trembling with a terror you cannot name
and feel you cannot escape.
It feels like a betrayal.
It is a glimpse of what a Seer sees, but without the peace to go with it.
You carry the invisible claw marks
of an unseen battle
into the daylight.
Your soul shredded
by a night that offered no rest.
And perhaps the heaviest weight
is the shrug you get from the world
or even the church.
They see your exhaustion
and offer hollow scripts:
“Just pray harder.”
“It’s just a chemical imbalance.”
They treat a spiritual war
like a simple bad mood
leaving you to wrestle with the shadows
alone.
But listen to me.
You are not abandoned.
Your mind may be the frontline,
but you are not defenseless.
The Bible never says you must only endure.
It says you have the authority to confront the darkness.
And that authority isn’t reserved
for some elite believer.
It is for you.
Freedom begins the moment
you recognize the battlefield
and realize
you have the right
to slam the door on the darkness.
The night does not have to remain
your season of torment.
It can become the place
where God stands guard
reclaiming your peace
inch by inch.
The same cry that tore the veil
the cry of Jesus Christ
is the same authority
that breaks the chains
of your restless nights.
When the enemy whispers
that you are hunted
you do not have to argue.
You simply answer
with the Word
that silenced him forever.
The suffocation is broken
by His breath.
The battle for your mind
was won
two thousand years ago.
You can breathe now.
The night is no longer a cage.
It is your sanctuary.
It is finished.
Tetelestai.
